This multi-recreational facility is home to two ice surfaces, an aquatic centre  and curling club. It required an extensive upgrade of all public safety services, a renovation to the lobby, multi-gathering spaces and change rooms as well as the addition of public and minor hockey dressing rooms. This public facility remained open and fully operational during construction with Scott working in phases to accommodate the client’s hockey and curling schedules. The 6,825 sq. ft. addition utilized pre-cast wall systems and conventional steel construction.

This spectacular LEED® Gold recreation facility includes an NHL-sized arena that converts into Olympic size, a spectator gymnasium, fitness centre, squash courts and Kinesiology Department. The project underwent extensive sitework as well with the excavation of an 8.41m deep storm pond. The building is constructed of conventional steel and features a tall glass architectural showpiece. It was built in time for the 2019 Canada Games and today is used extensively by RDC students and the general public.

This arena facility uses Green Technologies; heat recovery ventilators, high-efficiency boilers, non-CFC refrigeration equipment for HVAC Systems, low-flow fixtures and a careful selection of electrical controls, fixtures and automated lights. The mechanical and electrical systems as well as the ice plant are designed with future growth of a twin arena. Specifications include a 85’ x 200’ NHL sized ice surface, arena seating of 1,700 and non-ice events (i.e. concerts) seating capacity of 3,000.

This outstanding community facility comprises a gymnasium, commercial kitchen and working spaces. It is used by the YMCA who holds day camps, cooking classes and other programs (including a dance studio) for the surrounding community. The entire wall system utilized a pre-cast concrete wall system.

Scott renovated the existing 9,042 sq. ft. community centre and added an additional 5,436 sq. ft. to match the existing facility, enabling the community centre to accommodate the expanded needs of their surrounding and growing neighbourhoods.

Showcasing a large, glass entry way, this expansive exhibition hall was constructed between two existing, fully operating buildings. It includes a mezzanine area as well to oversee the activities in the hall below. It utilizes a Butler Engineered Building system to effectively accommodate the requirement of large clearspan construction for maximum flexibility. The facility is designed to support FIFA soccer, concerts and large scale conference and social events.

Scott’s 50 year history includes the construction of a number of banks including this facility for CIBC, located in the Walden subdivision of Calgary.

A gathering space for all ages, this community centre includes a large room plus a commercial kitchen for hosting events including a step out covered patio for BBQ’s and other functions.

This 60 year old building of three stories is divided into five (5) levels. Scott renovated three levels while the other two remained fully operational. The broad scope of work included reinforcing the existing steel structure, upgrading the HVAC system and electrical system, modifying the sprinkler system, and installing new finishes throughout and also included full demolition of existing interior structures, modification and reinforcing the existing steel and wood structures. Exterior work included modifications to the entrances to make them barrier-free.

Scott was the General Contractor on this major Red Deer College expansion. It included a renovation/expansion to the bookstore, Students’ Association offices, Kinesiology link, Students Lounge with a kitchen, as well as the impressive, modern 24,800 sq. ft. two storey library. Scott worked closely with Cohos Evamy Partners (Edmonton) and Group 2 Architecture (Red Deer) to ensure the successful completion of this work.
