Scott Builders have accredited LEED professionals who use green tools during pre-construction and value design processes to devise the best balance between environmental and economic goals. In addition, Scott Builders have designed and built LEED accredited facilities; from LEED Certified to LEED Gold.
Scott Builders have also constructed Alberta’s first Municipal Passive House® facility, the Town Office in Valleyview, AB. The Passive House® concept is based on constructing an ultra insulated and ultra sealed building, which along with a high quality HRV ventilation system (heat recovery ventilation), reduces the building’s energy consumption by approximately 80% as opposed to standard buildings.
Without exception, the basic principles of sustainability, i.e. high R-values, optimal vapour barriers, high efficiency HVAC units, LED lighting and enhanced ventilation are now part of every Scott project.
