WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING PART OF THE SCOTT BUILDERS TEAM?

In one word – People. Both in the fantastic team I work with and our great clients. Scott Builders is made up of a diverse mix of talent where different backgrounds and skillsets come together to create a dynamic and cohesive team. Working with such great people who all come together to positively impact a project inspires me to constantly improve and be better.

WHAT INITIALLY DREW YOU TO THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY & WHAT MADE YOU STAY?

As long as I can remember, I’ve always loved building design. As a kid I remember helping with family projects and loved seeing how everything came together. This inspired me to start my career in Architecture. While I loved the design side, I wanted to be part of the whole building process. This is what led me to construction and Scott Builders.

I stay in construction because of the people I work with. I love the building environment. Nothing quite compares to the satisfaction I get from working with a client and consultant team to help them realize their vision for a project.

WHEN YOU’RE NOT HARD AT WORK, WHERE CAN WE FIND YOU?

When I’m not working, you can find me spending time with my family, working in my garden, painting, and drawing. I love leaning into my creative outlets as a way of decompressing and finding new inspiration.

SOMEONE YOU ADMIRE? (OR YOUR HERO)

My father is someone I’ve always looked up to and admired. A single father of 3 boys with a large presence, he is gentle, caring, and loving, and has inspired much of who I am today. As I look back on my life, he’s been supportive and a constant champion. He always encouraged following your dreams and that no matter what path you choose, always give it your all.

One of my favourite quotes is “The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.” by Albert Einstein. This quote always spoke to me in relation to design in construction, helping to remind me to continue pushing, exploring, and sometimes using a little imagination to create innovative solutions to enhance a project.
