Our story is one of succession. The hard work and dedication of our team over the last 50+ years will assure the continued growth and prosperity of Scott Builders for future generations.
1971
Al Scott buys Germain Construction, Red Deer. Changes the name to SCOTT BUILDERS. Butler Building franchise comes with the sale.
1978
Scott moves from steel-erect Butler envelopes to a full Design/Build operation. Gears up accordingly.
1981
Al Scott sells his company to the principals of Vanir Construction Services in Calgary.
1986
Ralph Ward, former Butler Mfg. Executive, buys Scott Builders. Sales that year were only $4.0M.
1993
Scott Builders expands to Edmonton. Opens a full-service office under Construction veteran, Dave Morrison.
1995
Scott Builders then expands to Calgary, setting up a Joint Venture Operation there with Butler Manufacturing Co. Three years later Scott Builders take over full ownership.
1997
Murray Cunningham's first job out of U. of A. is with Scott. He becomes President & C.E.O. of the Company in 2019.
2001
Scott Builders embark on a 10 year Design & Construction program for West Fraser Timber’s subsidiary Revy Home & Garden. Complete 25 major stores all across Canada.
2008
Scott Builders becomes a fully Employee Owned Company and in 2022 have 150 participating Owners. This program was created and led by Scot Rutherford who was President & CEO from 2004 to 2019.
2015
Scott Builders achieve an aggregate $160M in Butler Mfg. steel sales placing them in the top 5 Butler Builders in North America.
2019
Veteran Hans te Stroete, Vice President Business Development celebrates 40 years of outstanding performance with the Company.
2021
Scott Builders Inc. celebrate their 50th Anniversary.
2023
A mix of excellent new projects start the year – from a 500,000 sq. ft. Distribution Centre in Edmonton to an Elders Lodge near Grande Cache, AB plus a wide variety of other end uses, has Scott on the move in every facet of their operation.
