Business Development Manager

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING PART OF THE SCOTT BUILDERS TEAM?

I love the freedom and flexibility I have in my role. Working with the team at Scott Builders has allowed me to connect with great people and leading the Social Committee and planning events for our Staff and their families has been incredibly rewarding. Throughout my time here, I’ve not only contributed to countless projects but also provided support and camaraderie to our staff. The combination of a supportive work environment and the belief that I can thrive here is what keeps me motivated to show up day after day.

WHAT INITIALLY DREW YOU TO THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY & WHAT MADE YOU STAY?

Coming from a family deeply rooted in construction, with my dad, brother, and several other relatives being skilled in various trades, I’ve always had a knack for building and practicality. I take great pride in being able to handle tasks that others would typically hire someone else to do. I get a great sense of accomplishment when I can transform a set of drawings into a tangible structure that exceeds the client’s expectations months down the line. Witnessing their astonishment and satisfaction with the results brings immense gratification and has kept me happy within the construction industry throughout my career. Working at Scott Builders feels like a second home to me, and that’s precisely why I’ve chosen to stay.

WHEN YOU’RE NOT HARD AT WORK, WHERE CAN WE FIND YOU?

When I’m not at work you can find me with my family. From working out with my spouse to getting my kids ready for school, I love spending time with my family. Family time for me usually means working on personal projects, assisting with homework, playing catch in the backyard, or laughing at funny videos that will embarrass my children. Truly there is never a dull moment in my house.

SOMEONE YOU ADMIRE? (OR YOUR HERO)

My dad has always been my role model, even though he passed away several years ago, his legacy has left a deeply rooted mark on me. He embodied integrity and honor, and no matter how badly I messed up, I knew he would always support me unconditionally. It’s that same unwavering support that I strive to provide to my own kids. I take immense pride in watching my children succeed, and it fills my heart with joy. And last but not least, my spouse, who is a constant source of love and encouragement. Without her, I would be lost.

WORDS YOU LIVE BY: (FAVOURITE QUOTE OR LIFE PHILOSOPHY)

“Do better and suck less.” Initially, it started as a joke about dealing with subpar tradespeople, where the minimum expectation was for them to improve even slightly in their invoicing, workmanship, or simply showing up to work. However, it has evolved into a personal mantra, a reminder to constantly seek improvement in every aspect of life, striving to be a little better each day.
