Scott Builders Inc. requires a highly focused, organized and motivated Project Manager with extensive experience working on projects in Commercial/Light Industrial with a preference for direct Project experience in Power Generation, Low Rise Multi Use, or Recreational or Assisted-living markets. This position is responsible and accountable for all aspects of the construction process on the project(s) they are assigned. The Project Manager works closely with the Site Superintendent and Project Team ensuring efficient, timely fulfilment of the project obligations to complete the project on time, within budget and to the quality specified, while ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.

Job Summary:

As the Project Manager, the successful candidate will help develop and review the project scope, budget, plans and schedules. Relying on their previous experience and in conjunction with the project team the successful candidate will ensure the project is built according to approved plans, specifications, and building codes, to meet our high standard of quality construction. Candidates with a proven track record to achieve project schedule commitments within financial targets will be given preference. The successful candidate will be a strong advocate for our health and safety management program ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies.

We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated experience in leading successful project teams through teamwork and collaboration, with the ability to influence others, negotiate and resolve conflict. The proven ability to establish strong client and trade relationships is also crucial to the success of this position and a requirement of the Scott Builders Culture.

Candidates who submit project lists and client references supporting power generation, assisted-living, recreational and low-rise mixed-use markets will be given preference.

Requirements:

To qualify for this position, successful applicants will possess the following requirements:

• Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Engineering or Construction Management or related discipline (equivalent of education and experience may be considered)
• 5+ years’ project management experience in commercial/industrial constructions
• Gold Seal certified preferred
• PMP certification an asset
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction process, drawings/blueprints, specifications, schedules, budgets and project management methodology
• Competently manage the design and construction process from project start up to project closeout for mid to large projects with varying complexities
• Demonstrated experience to lead and motivate project teams with a hands-on approach from start up through completion
• Ability to communicate effectively with various individuals/stakeholders through both written and verbal communication means
Ability to guide safe work practices in a high-pressure environment while maintaining project quality, schedule and budget
• Capable of identifying the root cause of problems and constructability issues in complex situations and determine viable solutions
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with employees and stakeholders
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Procore and applicable project management software
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Committed to providing exceptional customer service both internally and externally
• Flexibility in working periods of overtime and travel to sites on occasion
• Must have and maintain a valid provincial drivers license
• Must be legally able to work in Canada without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor employment Visas.

Job Summary:

As a trusted advisor with established client relationships, previous sales experience and strong working knowledge of commercial construction, this position will leverage their network of business contacts and relationships to secure new projects. Working collaboratively with the Branch Managers, Business Development & Pre-Construction Teams, this position will identify, pursue and establish new opportunities essential to our organizational growth within new and current markets in Western Canada.

The successful candidate will be an expert at researching and analyzing potential opportunities for growth in geographic locations and markets, and providing the leadership team with up to date market trends and ongoing analysis of the current business environment. Requirements:

To qualify for this position, successful applicants will possess the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited post-secondary institution in the field of construction (equivalent commercial construction experience and education may be considered)
• 10+ years of technical experience in commercial construction, estimating and/or project management
• 10+ years of previous sales and business development experience in the commercial construction and/or real estate and land development industry
• Professional industry credentials would be a strong asset
• Proven knowledge and understanding of various construction delivery methods (Design-Build, Bid-Build, and Construction Management)
• Understanding of pre-construction process including sales, design, estimating and closing a definite asset
• Able to use technical knowledge to gain trust and respect of current and prospective clients and partners
• Experience drafting proposals and responding to complex RFP’s (Request for Proposal)
• Proven experience populating and maintaining client relationship management (CRM) software
• Maintains an established network of clients, realtors, developers and landowners
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with sales and operations teams
• Ability to negotiate and communicate at all levels is essential
• Demonstrated experience problem solving with critical thinking that results in a solution that is in the best interests of the company and our clients
• Sound knowledge of real estate and development markets in Western Canada
• Able to travel extensively
• Previous experience and proven ability to train and mentor others would be an asset
